Albert Bierstadt was a hugely famous American-German painter who was part of the Hudson River School. Bierstadt produced famous paintings of North American landscapes, notably The Rocky Mountains, Yosemite. Bierstadt’s 19th century landscape paintings numbered as many as 4,000.
