Constable Paintings
See this Constable paintings gallery for more information on this great artist.
Constable is known to have appreciated artists like Thomas Gainsborough, Claude Lorrain, Peter Paul Rubens, Annibale Carracci and Jacob van Ruisdael and these are also available in this website.
Constable was particularly inspired by the paintings of Thomas Gainsborough, Claude Lorrain, Peter Paul Rubens, Annibale Carracci and Jacob van Ruisdael. By 1803, he was exhibiting paintings at the Royal Academy. Constable’s watercolours were also remarkably free for their time: the almost mystical Stonehenge, 1835, with its double rainbow, is often considered to be one of the greatest watercolours ever painted.
