Tamara de Lempicka was a famous Polish Art Deco painter and commonly seen as “the first woman artist to be a glamour star.”

Tamara de Lempicka did work hard and play hard, even through the depression of the 1930s which seemed to avoid her own life style and career progression. At this time Lempicka painted King Alfonso XIII of Spain and Queen Elizabeth of Greece.

Tamara de Lempicka also spent a lot of time in the company of key writers at the time as she looked to expand her knowledge and experience in the aspiration of developing her paintings further. When Lempicka passed away, her early Art Deco paintings had regained popularity with high price purchases and displays at high end galleries becoming common again. Stage play inspired by the life of Lempicka (“Tamara”) ran first in Toronto, then in Los Angeles to great success.
